specmet usa
Material Science First.Brokerage Built Around It.
SpecMet USA is an independent specialty metals brokerage built on a simple idea: a broker who actually understands the material moves it faster, prices it more fairly, and matches it to the right buyer the first time. We pair deep technical grounding in refractory and reactive metals with dedicated, full-time brokerage execution — and we never take title to your material.
Our Story
Why We Started SpecMet USA
Specialty and refractory metals — chromium, hafnium, molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, titanium, tungsten, vanadium, and zirconium — are not commodity markets. Pricing is opaque, buyer lists are not public, and a metallurgically sound lot of surplus material can sit unsold for months in the hands of a seller who simply doesn't know who actually needs it. SpecMet USA exists to close that gap.
The company's technical foundation draws on more than two decades of hands-on metallurgical engineering experience across titanium, zirconium, hafnium, niobium, tantalum, molybdenum, and tungsten — work spanning corrosion analysis, failure investigation, welding, casting, heat treatment, and metal processing for aerospace, defense, nuclear, chemical processing, oil & gas, and medical applications. That background shapes how SpecMet USA operates day to day: we know what a mill certification should say, why a heat treatment lot matters to a buyer's specification, and which industrial buyers are actually qualified to use what you have.
What Stands Behind Our Evaluations
Technical Foundation
Before SpecMet USA was a brokerage, its technical grounding already existed. We bring that material science discipline to every inquiry we take on.
How We're Structured
Two Disciplines, One Brokerage
SpecMet USA was deliberately built around two distinct skill sets rather than one generalist.
Material Evaluation
TECHNICAL FOUNDATION
Every inquiry SpecMet USA takes on is informed by metallurgical engineering experience built over more than two decades in refractory and reactive metals — spanning corrosion analysis, failure investigation, welding, casting, heat treatment, and metal processing across aerospace, defense, nuclear, chemical processing, oil & gas, and medical applications. This expertise is built into how we qualify material, recommend toll processes, and match buyers — it isn't limited to a single transaction or a single person's availability.
BROKERAGE EXECUTION
DEDICATED BROKERAGE OPERATIONS
Buyer outreach, deal structuring, and transaction management — from first inquiry through delivery — are handled by a dedicated brokerage function with deep roots in business development and commercial execution. That focused deal-making runs alongside SpecMet USA's technical foundation, so a technically sound match actually turns into a closed transaction rather than a qualified introduction that stalls.
How We Operate
Our Operating Principles
We don't ask you to trust a single name on a business card. We ask you to trust a process.
CONFIDENTIALITY BY DEFAULT
Your inventory, specifications, and program details are never shared without your explicit consent.
TECHNICAL RIGOR
Material is evaluated against real metallurgical and specification standards, not just a description in an email.
ALIGNED INCENTIVES
We're paid only when product ships and is received, or processed material is delivered — never before.
DIRECT TRANSACTIONS, NO SPREAD
You contract directly with the buyer or processor we introduce. We never take title or insert a markup.
